About the Biomass Laboratory
The Biomass Laboratory at UC Davis was established in 1981 to conduct research into efficient biomass energy conversion for power, heat, and fuels. The laboratory focuses on thermochemical energy conversion systems and related issues in chemical, thermal, and physical properties of biomass, ash transformations at elevated temperatures, mineral phase relationships, feedstock logistics and pretreatment, economics, environmental impacts, and systems analysis and optimization.
